Who are we?
The PTO consists of parents, teachers, and staff dedicated to maintaining the high quality of the Chief Umtuch experience. If you are a member of the Battleground community, you are a welcome and important part of the PTO.
The purpose of the PTO is to support and enhance the educational programs at Chief and to strengthen the relationship between home and school. The PTO is responsible for strategic planning, communications, coordination of enrichment programs, fundraising, and developing community ties.

When do we meet?
Meetings are held typically on the third Tuesday of each month @7pm in the Chief Library.
It is open to the general public and we encourage you to come and be a part of the great works.

Our mission as a PTO:
To encourage the educational climate of Chief Umtuch Middle School by building student morale, by strengthening communication ties between parents and teachers, and by encouraging the cooperative development of the CMS family for the betterment of students, families and the community overall.
The values of our PTO:
Communication – We believe in a unified effort between parents and teachers in educating children academically, socially, and otherwise.
Helpful – We are committed to understanding the concerns of teachers as well as the needs of students; we strive to establish high quality programs in support of each.
Interest – We are curious, absorbed, and we seek to be involved in the lives of our children.
Esteem – We respectfully appreciate the role of teachers, we admire the efforts of students, and we venerate the value of quality education.
Fellowship – We are devoted to sustaining a student-centered environment of togetherness, teamwork, and stability.
4 FREE and EASY ways to help donate:
1) Campbell's Soup-Labels for Education
Buy and collect the whole UPC barcode from your favorite soup and other Campbell's Products
2) Box Tops for Education
Cut out the Box Tops logo and save. Baggies and instructions are available in the CMS office
You can register your new or existing grocery club cards, debit and credit cards- participating merchants will make contributions to your chosen group, based on purchases you make. Forms are in the Chief Office or you can go on-line and sign up @ www.escrip.com
4) Ink cartridge and cell phone recycling:
Bring in your empty printer ink cartridges and broken or deactivated cell phones and we will recycle them for a small profit. Collection box is outside the office in the breeze way.
We all would like to welcome you to the Chief Umtuch Middle School PTO.
This is a free and strictly volunteer based organization.
We hold 2 Scholastic Book Fairs and 2 BIG events, sprinkled with a couple of student FUNdraisers
each year. If you are interested in becoming involved, 3-4 hours a year is all it takes.
